I purchased 2 Dell Poweredge 2850's. They both have COA stickers on them, but when I bought the servers, they did not come with the OEM Windows Server 2003 R2 disk. Does anyone know where I can get this?
If you insist on using COA (not SLP serial) than it is a RETAIL disk Nothing special about it You can use MS SLP key from stickies & only need to make a little mod to setupp.ini and re-create the install CD sebus
The COA stickers are the stickers that Dell stuck to the server. From past experience with Dell, you could not use a retail CD and use a Dell COA Key. Is this different with Dell's servers?

Sebus, Can you tell me where the oembios files, cert & slp keys are for Windows Server 2008 R2 prefer Dell if possible. I'll buying Dell. Also if the SLIC 2.1 on the dell machine has to match the certificate on the installation disc, how do I accomplish that? Thanks
Hi dc5dd, SVR2003 uses 'oembios' files, SVR2008 uses a 'Slic + Cert' Info on both are in the Stickies at the top of the forum. If you've got a Dell, with a SLIC 2.1 BIOS. You have to use the Dell Cert. But you can use the CDKey from another maker. The best way to make sure the BIOS Slic and Installed Cert. match, is to make your own Install disk.
ZaForD, I'm not seeing something I don't see the cert at the top of the forum?? Also if the dell has SLIC 2.1 wouldn't it be best to match to it? Thanks for the help.
Hi dc5dd, Sorry my bad. They don't appear to be here or on the Windows 7 forum... Anyway, the SLIC 2.1 Certs for SVR2008 and SVR2008 R2 are the same as for Windows 7. So grab one the Dell packs from the '7 OEM sources' thread in the Windows 7 forum. They should all have the Cert. in the OEM folder. You HAVE to match the Cert. to the SLIC. You CAN match the CD Key.
