Aloha, I have Dell Vostro 3750 that suffered a failed BIOS update. Could someone walk me through the recovery process? Thank you, Todd
I tried win/fn + b, shift, end, but the computer powers up for awhile then shuts back down. Any other ideas? Thank you, Todd
likely needs USB SPI programer to make backup.bin and fix it and flash it back. or get a full dump from a similar working bios pc.
I done the same with Vostro 3560 & never managed to recover it, replacement under warranty was the easiest option
im helping another user with 1564 and he got me backup.bin from SPI USB programmer and now i merged A10 to his bios and hes flashing to test. and it worked.
Yes, i am the user with Dell 1564..... LatinMcG helped me out ! When i programmed my Bios chip it worked. @toddhawaii: You should try the same !
get USB SPI Programmer like ch341a programmer. desolder chip and make backup.bin open it with HxD editor and compare beginning to 0001FFFF. if it matches mostly beginning then it should work= on backup.bin paste the bios dloaded. replace the broken bios code with new .. same exact address 0 to usually 0001FFFF file save as Test.bin flash and solder.
