    Hello,

I just buy an PowerEdge 2950 III (not yet receive it) without any OS. I already have the Dell OEM windows Server 2008 Standard edition (but i m looking now for the web edition)

    My question is :
i learn than when the dell computer is buy without any OS the bios is not ready to work with the Dell OEM windows Server 2008 ! Is it true ?

What to do to in this way ?

    thanks by advance

yes, i already check this thread, they say to update the service tag by
"pass:12/31" and than the slic will magiquely apear in the bios !

honestly i doubt of this but why not i will make a try ... !
I hope i will not break anything serious in the bios ...

Where can i find the utility asset.exe for dell poweredge 2950 III ?

wow that is awesome, truely aamazing. Too bad I can't use it for business because it breaks all licensing agreements. Home though is a different story.

Not sure, the only explaning you need to do is to the Dell people, Microsoft people won't ask you anything since it becomes OEM

What am I trying to change in this process? The Service Tag or The Asset Tag? The asset command does not seem correct if I am trying to change the service tag.
