    Hi,
I've just bought a Dell XPS 13 with Windows 8 preinstalled. I need to format and install Windows 7. I have some questions :

    1. Does this laptop come with a DELL SLIC 2.2 ?
    2. Can I activate Windows 7 using this SLIC ? How ? I mean... I know how to activate, but what certificate files, etc do I need to use to make it work ?

    Thanks for your help redroad.

I had already read some of the links, and I have modded and activated some older machines some years ago. It's the UEFI/GPT/SLIC2.2 that I'm not familiar with.
I'll read and re-read the links you've provided, do some hands-on tests (which I haven't had time to do yet) and try to figure things out... and I'll come back if/when I have more questions.

    Thanks.

This is also an important read for OEM Windows 8 activation preservation for future install http://forums.mydigitallife.net/thr...tivation-Guide?p=690668&viewfull=1#post690668

After you have read the info provided above you will see that is unlikely that we are talking about Slic 2.2 but rather the MSDM table .. If you are lucky your machine will also have slic 2.1 which of course will make your Windows 7 install legit .. Some machines during this transition period have both ..
