Should running that exe file while running Vista do anything? Just tried it and it didn't. Or does it only work once I have installed Win7

ok think it has worked now. That line, instead of showing

    53 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

    now shows

    53 20 01 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

so assuming I can now install the Win 7 Ultimate with no key?

ah ok so just the certificate, which I assume would be the Dell one inside the certificates zip folder. That link says to not enter a serial, but would that be the ISO to download or one of the Ultimate ones in the ISO post

Can confirm that mod works. Got ultimate fully activated. You just need to follow the link repositry link to activate after installing without key.

yes, unless the certificate can be found on the install disk at \sources\$OEM$\$$\SYSTEM32\OEM in which case it gets installed during the windows installation process

ok thanks. So rather than using the heavy multi-language/edition can I just use one of the Ultimate x86 OEM ones? Although not sure whether E or N

Search windows 7 section for how to make windows 7 OEM dvd forget E or N versions there are no SLP keys available to activate them.

just grabbing a Windows 7 Ultimate OEM, doesn't state E or N and been told it doesn't need anything, or would I just be better to grab the multi-language, edition one

    re: M1710 2.1

    Hi,

Does anybody have an alternative link for the SLIC 2.1 BIOS for the XPS M1710 as I have clicked the link from the first place and the file has been removed...........apparently.

    Thanks in advance.

The daz loader still works on the 1710 if you want to wait and see.
