Ok so I looked around the internet for solutions to turn off windows update cuz i'm tired of it eating up my limited data
An here's what i've found, renaming the wuaueng.dll file in the system32 to wuaueng.dll.bak , some people deleted it but i kept mine afterwards i restarted my system and checked windows update in settings and it won't open at all
Now i dont know if it worked be cuz it wont open but i feel like when i use chrome its a little bit quicker.

    So actual question
    Did it work or not?

This is what you're looking for. Run it to the first screen and close it. It'll never update again for the rest of your life. And you can easily undo the changes if you change your mind later.
And if you want defender to never update too, delete the WDU task in task scheduler after running the script.
