Yes! Lol, not to be offensive but have you been living under a rock? DX11 is supposed to be one of the major selling (and redeeming) points of Win7.
Directx 11 is part of Windows 7, but the point to make is you really need a Directx 11 card to make the most of it, which aren't out yet. The ATI 5xxx cards are rumoured to be out fairly shortly, Nvidia users will have to wait till next year. Regardless the fact Windows 7 comes with Directx 11, you should run the Directx 'extensions', the last of which came out in March. These are required (and installed for the most part) by games and programmes, but its better to have them already installed.
Question though. Since I didn't really read up on DX11 much, anyone know if HW supporting DX10 will support 11, or is going to be like 9 to 10, where some people needed to update GFX Card? I could probably find out by searching myself but I'm being lazy... Someone enlighten me?
Pretty sure a lot of people will have to purchase a new Video Card.Sucks but that's the way it is.There gonna get you one way or another unless one day you decide to not play any dx10/11 games lol.
Actually, I rarely play DX10 games.... Think I have like 2 and I have them on PS3 as well but dont play them... *coughassassinscreedcough*.. I use emulators though since I can increase texture sizes of games (like ps2 for example) and make look a little nicer than on the console, and DX10 does a few things with textures more efficiently (and correctly *cough*). That could be bad coding on the creators part though, but just seems like 10 works better for that sort of thing. Thats why I was wondering, cause 11 is probably working better than 10 atm... >.>
What's interesting is my nvidia software is showing windows 7 Dx11 actually being Dx10. But if i pull up DxDiag it shows Dx 11. So i really don't know and could care less at this point. It's going to be a continual improvement in regards to Dx. Look at Dx9 and you seen how long it took them to implement Dx10. And if i had to guess Win 8 will be Dx 12/13 lol.
or "11.1" lol. Well, the plugin for my one emu shows DX10 and DX11 so was j/w since I tried and it did not work. Know of any DX11 benchmarks or anything yet?
No benchmarks yet that i know of. I'm sure it's an improvement over Dx10 but by how much it's hard to say.Oh yeah don't forget no games/video cards fully support Dx11 yet so might have to wait awhile for benchmarks.
