My issue is that i need to activate IDE mode in my BIOS. Sadly for me, HP locked the BIOS so IDE and AHCI mode are not configurable. My guess is that i have AHCI. I have an InsydeH20 BIOS, firmware revision: F.13 available here (on hp website) h t t p ://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-65673-1&cc=fr&dlc=fr&lc=fr&os=4062&product=3812367&sw_lang= Sorry for spaces My PC is a hp dv7-1103ef. I would basically like someone to edit (or to teach me how to edit) my BIOS so that i can activate the hidden options and therefore dis-activate AHCI. Any help at all would be much appreciated! The hidden option is located in the system configuration tab of my BIOS. I got lots of information from another thread if someone wants to give it a try, threads title is: [Need Help] Disable AHCI Mode in HP Pavilion DV7-1245dx Thanks, Max.
Hey, I'm having the same problem that you had here. My Hp-dm4-2070us has bios InsydeH20 rev 3.5 with windows 7. I want to install as a dual boot windows xp but in order to do that, I have to activate IDE mode. In the bios of InsydeH20 there is no option to change "RAID Auto/AHCI" to "RAID Auto/ATA" How did you solve this? Thanks a million, Mike
Hey can you tell me what the fix was? I am trying to install XP on a HP dv7 laptop but the BIOS has no option for changing to IDE mode. Thanks!
