I would like to know which services are recommended to disable on Windows 10 1803 aka 17134.1 Some time ago I saw a thread about this for an older version (wich I can't find now), in that thread I saw a post from @abbodi1406 with a fantastic unattend.xml for doing this during install, it worked flawlessly, of course this may need to be updated for this new version. @abbodi1406 Could you share with us your unattend.xml for this new version? Thanks is advance
I installed new version just two times in a hurry, i didn't dig in the changes to services or schedule tasks i only noticed one new locked service: WarpJITSvc
Though not in line with and possibly disappointing your eagerness, I’ll offer my conservative advice for a more balanced approach. You can safely disable what you don’t like in the settings. Going beyond that, involves risks which, in my view, outweigh any possible small gains. The consequences of such risks may not manifest themselves till much later in time. There are specialized tools that will help you disable unnecessary/unused services, often with a single click. I don’t recommend those either. The above is not intended to dispute abbodi's recognized considerable abilities.
delete me (even if on-topic, and "shjt" was used impersonally as a figure of speech and not in the sightless offensive)
My bad It's just that I'm currently on my fanless htpc with a shi.. core2 inside and 4GB ram, that would be long thrown to the garbage bin if not for tweaking the shi,, out windows, including services. I know it works
Tell me about it. Clean install of 1709 took 2 mins to load desktop, 1803 took 5 mins, I could not even move mouse, until it loaded, once I applied tweaks, it takes 5 secs, that makes a little difference.
well i dont want to demean anyone, but i do agree with @Katzenfreund on this one. The lowest hardware i have around is a netbook with 2gb ram, pentium n3540 and a 5400 rpm hdd, tweaked nothing since win 10 1709, boots and works actually pretty good for kodi and chrome, i usually dont keep dozens of tabs open in the background though. Still, your hardware might be having a diff story.
Create folders in \sources: \$OEM$\$$\Setup\scripts It means you have to create on sources folder the $OEM$ folder, open it and inside it create $$ folder, open it and inside it create Setup folder, open it and inside it create scripts folder, open it and inside it copy: specialize.cmd >>>From abbodi1406 post #12 (edit to your needs/likes if required) setupcomplete.cmd >>>From abbodi1406 post #12 PhotoViewer.reg >>>From my post #11 Tweaks.reg >>>(your own tweaks, optional) Don't forget to copy and save as, and edit unattend.xml (from my post #11) to your needs/likes, put it on the root of your install DVD/USB Now just run the usuall install and all will be done automatically. NOTE: This is for clean install not for updating your installed system taviruni
I have problem with user name and password during installation. What to type as user name and password or where to change it to suits my needs and how?
Same here. The post with the flaming profanities didn't get deleted, its poster was tolerated, but my legitimate reply was deleted. This is not a board in which I wish to participate.
You mean your post that was 100% ad-hominem attacks on the author of a post, and 0% touching the opinions expressed in the post? And @Enthousiast, what one say about a fly going into a pile of dark matter that comes out of the back of a cow? You were 100% off topic as well. Next time, use the report button, don't pollute threads unnecessary, and then rant about deleted posts. Thank you.
