Hey everybody .. In your opinion .. what is the best windows ever released by microsoft .. till now ?!
XP Media Center Edition, hands down the best thus far. Vista was not user friendly, M$ crazy secured it against users setting it up their way and it was a resource hog for no good reason @ all because there's nothing special about it, nor special features worth the lagging 7 is much the same and i see no improvement from Vista personally. Three main versions, each with different capabilities (M$ lies) and all resource hogs for bloat services, more complicated settings schemes set up by M$ to discourage user setting changes, etc etc. who really cares about new icons, new resource hogging themes, and new services that most will never use? these few things don't make a "new" OS but only a rip off because everyone can put that on XP without having to pay anything to do so. glad i got 7 for free from MDL and glad i kept XPMCE intact and ran dual boot... let's hope 8 is actually something new and friendly and doesn't come unnecessarily bloated out of the box...
xp and 7 they just work like they should, and thats all we want. Its like a ref ina sports game, they should not even be noticed as it should just do its job, and not take any attention of even be noticed during the game.
I Really don't see a new "BRILLIANT" features in windows 7 ! I Want a feature that can't be made by anyone but microsoft ! BitLocker And Readyboost .. that kind of stuff can be made by any developer ! I Heard that windows 8 will require less system requirements than windows 7 .. and it will be less resources hog !
We are not in a middle of a fight .. I'm writing for Windows 7 .. !! Could you really say that the performance of windows 7 are better than windows XP ??!! Try to check out the tests and benchmarks .. !
Windows 2000, downhill ever since. Lean mean, and very little bloat. I had a Toshiba Portege 10.8" at one stage, ran Windows 2000 Pro like a dream on PII 300 /128MB of RAM, plus it shut down in 3 sec. Also, no activation BS whatsoever.
