An OS ISO for more than 6 GB? I miss the XP days when an ISO of only 600 MB can provide more than enough computing functions for the average users. WTF do they stuff into these massive ISOs these days, besides the spying modules?
Even though they sometimes are referred to as “homebrew”, I prefer uupdump.net ISOs. They install well and I don’t have the file corruption issues I get with MSFT distributions. I almost always get errors running SFC with those, but not with uupdump ISOs.
I wonder how long it would take to do a complete make on the latest Windows version? Starting from scratch, with only source code. I'm sure Microsoft has some very powerful computers sitting around, but then there are a lot of separate modules to compile. Sounds like this would be a good candidate for distributed processing. If you have, say, 5,000 modules to compile, then use 50 computers each one compiling 100 modules. I remember when we used to always build our own linux kernel, used to take 2 or 3 hours on the average computer in those days. Heck, I remember an article about how Intel would emulate their latest CPU design using an IBM mainframe. It would take a couple of days to "boot the OS" using the emulator.
I've been building my updated install.esd with W10UI.cmd and "set Cleanup=0". On some systems I get these "ghost" errors & others I don't. Seems a bit random...
When building the 19042.782 uup ISO, about half-way down in the uup_download_windows.cmd script it calls convert-UUP.cmd. Since it does not appear to pass any parameters to convert-UUP.cmd, the presumption is that one should be able to manually run the convert-UUP.cmd script a second time and build the same identical ISO. But when I do this, I get a second ISO that is different in size from the first one. So are the source file folders modified when a uup ISO is built? I haven't changed anything about the content of the source folders, the ConvertConfig.ini file or scripts. What causes an ISO of a different size to be generated the second time convert-UUP.cmd is run?

Test creation with updates 1 is running.
Both your ISOs are obviously the same size. If the build process is time-sensitive, then this might change the build sizes. My two ISOs were built two days apart, but all other source files were the same: Same source folders, files, scripts, etc. No new downloading. Just two runs of the same conversion script. The script was for [Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2 (19042.782) amd64] set to build Windows Pro, Enterprise, and Windows Pro for Workstations. I'll try to get more info. I'll run the script today two times back-to-back and try to post what happens today.
