Hi guys!!! In Original images from Microsoft MSDN Microsoft Windows 10.0.19042.804 [RU] Version 20H2 (Updated February 2021) - integrated into boot.wim instead of windows10.0-kb4586858-DU for SafeOS (for boot.wim & winre.wim only), windows10.0- kb4562830 (Enablement Package, includes Edge Chromium). Can anyone explain.

I recently made a 21H1 ISO & clean install in a system & installed latest Java JRE 8 Build 281, but JAR file in not opening, while it was fine in 20H2.804 build. So asking here if anyone, who've made & clean installed the 21H1 in a system, can confirm whether executable JAR files are opening or not?

EDIT/UPDATE: NVM, fixed it by jarfix, but still would like to know if anyone installed 21H1 ISO, experienced the same without this fix, or not. If anyone experience already or recently clean installed 21H1, let me know if the JAR file is opening with the latest JRE or not. Also, not, in one of my system, where I upgraded from 20H2 to 21H1 via the EP, this issue is not present over there.

 

Open Settings, Apps, "Choose default apps by file type"

You should see something like this:

Uhh, never mind, looks like I can't insert an image.

Basically, the ".jar" file extension should be linked to "Java(TM) Platform SE binary"

 

I know how to set a default app to open any specific file & after installing the latest JAVA JRE, windows already set that as default for JAR files, but that's not the issue being mentioned here.

& anyway, I found a fix & wrote that in my earlier comment edited.

& FYI, to post any screenshot/picture, you either upload/attach that SS/image here using the 'upload a file' option directly from your system or can hyperlink any image web URL

It's simple. Microsoft promised Two Updates a year & that is what we are getting. Doesn't matter that one is fake. 2 is 2.

 

To me, 19041/2/3 are just three versions of Windows 10 2020-2021. As long as there are steady fixes and features added, I'm completely satisfied. No problemo.
