About that. If the iso was "legit" (or untouched), why did it keep e.g. chrome but not photoshop from the apps that were already installed on w7? Chrome is easy to reinstall, photoshop isn't, so I assume that the idiot who did the upgrade did not have an untouched iso. As for the rest, thank you for the clarification about the major version number. Unfortunately, she does not know how to download an iso (let alone have mct create it for her). That is why I will do it myself. As for the other suggestion. I say it again, the neighbors laptop, which btw is on 21h2 + June's update, has no issues connecting to the printer and printing. Surely, creating a virtual machine or installing on a new partition just for printing is a solution, but it is too far fetched. I think no more proof than that is needed for the current status of the windows installation on that pc. And in case I did not mention it, I tried manjaro's iso (xfce lite version) on the pc in question and it did not have cups (linux's subsystem for printing) preinstalled! I got so upset that I did not want to waste 1+ hour so as to download another distro. Yes, 2-3gb isos take ~1 hour to download on 10-12Mbps speed.
Like I said an error during the in place upgrade can't be ruled out. Also could be purposely excluded for some reason. Say if you have Vmware 10/11 (which are older versions of vmware) MS thinks they are not compatible with win 10 and are not migrated, but then you can reinstall manually and they works perfectly. OK, I missed that info Obviously, being a lite version it comes with minimal bloat, but, seriously if typing "pacman -S cups" is too much for you, i suggest to buy a mac Jokes aside for people used to windows and little experience with Linux i strongly suggest to use Q4OS (tde edition), it comes with a modernized version of KDE3.x (Trinity) which is by far the best GUI for Linux although it was released first in 2003 or so. It's small, light, quick, but lacks nothing, and it's easy to install also non open source things (like Vivaldi, Opera, Chrome, Teamviewer, Skype and so on) via a couple of mouse clicks)
@acer-5100 + rest Good news first. The in place upgrade was completed successfully, the printer was added in seconds and she can now print as usual. It was a long and very time consuming procedure for her, considering the very little free time she has daily, but at least it worked. Thank you all As for the linux part. Yes, I know I can install cups via pacman etc. The problem is that I expected a ~2.5gb iso of a popular distro to have it preinstalled, like it does with all sorts of useless stuff, but I was disappointed.
Added all Client ISO TURLs and sha1/sha256 checksums, except Thai and Turkish Client ISOs. Would be very much appreciated if someone can generate those x86 and x64 temp links Also a headstart on the enterprisevl iso links would be greatly appreciated, i only have en-US x86 and x64 atm. SVF(SFX) creation started on the ISOs i already have.
For those using WSUS this Insider Preview as ESD was made available there under Windows Insider Pre-Release & Upgrades.
Code: expired... If somebody would be able to provide me the remaining polish>>turkish ISO TURLs i would really appreciate it
With polish >> turkish i actually meant: Polish > russian > spanish > spanish mexico > swedish > thai and turkish Can you help me get these too?
