Never keep personal files, and software installation files on same drive as OS. Always follow the three rules of installation.
    1) Backup
    2) Backup
    3) Backup.

Tell that to the people who lost their stuff when doing something very normal;)

But, as mentioned before, and supported by MSFT, the best advise is to NOT use IP builds on important systems/daily drivers, all is at the users own risk.

Keep files on other partition (never keep on system os partition this is bad choice), next good is keep on usb stick drive and last keep on external hdd. 3 copies is excellent work.

I also keep in the cloud. A 69 ton weight can fall on my computer, and all will be safe!

This is a CYA statement to avoid legal repercussions. Just like the statement on a coffee cup "Warning: Contents are hot!"

About the article from Softpedia. They mistranslated and misspelled Desk... modder's article.

I don't think so, in the softpedia article it clearly says that "Microsoft has removed SwiftKey settings... All configuration options that have previously been offered in the Settings app are no longer available...", and that is correct, they don't say that the feature itself has been removed.
