    I thought I made that perfectly clear when I stated, "One test I like to make before condemning the hardware is to swap out the hard drive (thus preserving my old install)."

    So your are preserving the "old install" by removing the hard drive (with Windows on it) from the system? I can see that.

    But you also say: "If Windows installs and runs with no errors on the clean hard drive, that pretty much eliminates hardware errors in my experience."

    I don't agree with the above statement. You can install Windows, for temporary periods of time, on drives with "intermittent" problems, or on systems with other hardware problems. A clean install of Windows is not necessarily a good measure of hardware reliability.

  4. they are all under the "2004 Language Pack" title, so i uploaded them all. You probably need the very first one, should be around 5-6 GB. The difference is that the first one is the Language Pack and the other two are Language Experience Packs.

    So, what would be the difference between Language Pack and Language Experience Packs?

    Thanks

    @donmiller
    KB4592438 = issue resolved
    Code:
    If you are using or creating custom media, you will need to include an update released November 17, 2020 or later.
    win10 media status is determined by LCU version, not dates and timezones differences

    So the "feature update bundle" that MSFT is referring to is the KB4592438 LCU. Even if MSFT mentions that the media needs to be dated 12/3/2020 or later.

    I can testify that the UUPDUMP.ML ISO installed better than the MVS ISO. It didn't seriously clobber any drivers, SFC didn't report any corruption issues, and WinRE works flawlessly. Better install than the MVS ISO.

    This will start all over next Tuesday (Patch Tuesday) with a new LCU.

    KB4592438, KB4586853, KB4594440 all fix it

    the said media released 12/3/2020, not built on that date
    the same article clearly mention "update released November 17, 2020 or later"
