It's not really a big issue about whether I like or dislike EPs. It's a problem when MSFT releases preview EPs. 19043 is currently a preview EP. If Windows 10 19041 or 19042 is installed, and you apply the 19043 EP, then Windows Update ceases to work unless you are in a Beta or Release-Preview channel. The only way to officially get in those channels is to have an MSFT account and sign-up with the "Windows Insider Program". I've seen the registry hacks to change update channels and they don't always work. Another strategy is to apply the 19043 EP and then roll-back to 19042, download the Windows Updates, and then reapply the 19043 EP. That works as long as Windows 10 does not spontaneously perform component store cleanup, and Windows 10 will do that every 30 days (or what seems unpredictably). So it's the preview EPs that can provide issues.

I've sort-of surrendered myself to the idea that Edge is going to be installed whether I like it or not. So I just turn-off "Startup Boost" so it's not running 5 copies of Edge in the background all the time while I'm using Firefox.

The second setting actually refers to other applications started by Edge like Adobe Reader which run separately but the setting is fine to be disabled. I keep mine disabled too and I use Edge Chromium as my primary browser.
The first setting - Startup Boost is an annoying new addition and should be disabled too, at least for most users.

20H2 is big mess. I hope 21H1 will be different. Or not.

Is build 19043.962 ready for production yet?

Yesterday I formatted with 19042.631 and feel like the build is running worse than installing 19041.450 and then updating via WU - Less FPS in games, stutters while scrolling on Edge browser and overall the performance feels bad.

So not sure if I should go with 21H1 or go back to 19041 and then just update.

It also refers to browser apps and they keep edge.exe running.

“A small subset of users have reported lower than expected performance in games after installing this update. Most users affected by this issue are running games full screen or borderless windowed modes and using two or more monitors,”
The fix is still rolling out and it might take up to 24 hours to propagate. Some affected users told us that their games are running smoothly after they checked for updates and restarted the system manually.

    Interesting, thanks!

I assume its the build I am currently running is affected by this? Running 19042.928 atm and noticing the issues or is it build 19043.962 (Which I mean in my previous of course and not 19042, fixed that)

The problem with 20H2 started (for me) in build 19042.685 - The screen don't turn on when I turn on PC. I think it's related to startup programs, for example Internet security, today, (Now I'm on 19042.928) it updated and in the morning the screen didn't turn on, but after pull out the internet cable and insert it again, the screen turn on.

Yeah, I'm on 19042.928 and performance feels weird sometimes, but I mostly notice it in games or in a browser when having around 10 tabs open (~10gb RAM out of 32GB usage, so that shouldnt be an issue), not even sure if its AMD driver related or just the Windows version.

Maybe better to open several browser windows instead 10 tabs. I think. I don't know. or several virtual desktop.

I forgot to mention that you could check your Display Adapter in Device Manager to make sure you have the appropriate Display Adapter driver installed. Sometimes when a new copy of Windows is installed, it loads the generic MSFT Display Adapter driver. Windows loads and displays, but the display performance is seldom optimal without the OEM Display Adapter driver.

Windows Key + R key > then enter "devmgmt.msc" to get to the Device Manager.
