After my 18362.53 (FAST) finally got the 18362.86 updates, the upgrade to 18885.1001 in the FAST Current ring went speedy, fastest i've seen on my VM
It's been like that in the past few Skip Ahead builds... The upgrade is much faster, especially after the first of the upgrade
In the past i did the upgrades the other day, because my system is always running 100% CPU Now i thought, let it run now, and it was done within 15-20min 64bit OS: Code: [MMINF] ======================= [MMINF] Memory Information [MMINF] ======================= [MMINF] Total Physical : 6.5 GB [MMINF] Used During Setup : 562.04 MB [MMINF] Available : 5.95 GB [91.55%] [MMINF] =======================
Most of the time I like to start installations with cleaned GPT disk using diskpart. I noticed with this release (at the stage of creating partitions) Windows creates a 100mb and 16mb partitions and the rest of the disk only, no 500mb or 529mb. But having finished the installation, I notice the following: Partition ### Type Size Offset ------------- ---------------- ------- ------- Partition 1 System 100 MB 1024 KB Partition 2 Reserved 16 MB 101 MB Partition 3 Primary 59 GB 117 MB Partition 4 Recovery 470 MB 59 GB Now the partition which was 499mb and grew to 529mb and usually #1, has become 470mb at the end of the disk #4!! However, it is flexible and one can inject new partitions between existing partitions by shrinking a "shrinkable" partition and creating a new one to right of it. Spoiler: Disk Management P.S. the Reserved 16mb does not show in Disk Management but will show when using diskpart.
well this new update is a nightmare for my sound card, i have the asus phoebus, with all other builds ive had to uninstall the drivers and then put the drivers back on but this time well microsoft has gone one better after this update i cant even get the drivers to go on it, a nightmare so back to the old build i go, thinking am getting a bit to old for all this may call it a day
Well this build wont install on my computer, strange some builds are no problem and others you have to spend time on finding out what is upsetting it. But am glad MS have always realised there could be a problem and can go back to previous build....h'mm well so far.
update on my asus phoebus sound card, managed to sort it out, the drivers plus program wouldnt uninstall so i downloaded windows 10 manager and managed to uninstall it with that plus i went into the registery and cleaned that out, after a restart i then put the drivers back on and bingo all works great
