So I need some help and a confirmation please. Clean installed this build 19041 but for whatever reason you cannot disable websearch and bingsearch if you install this build not connected to the internet before connecting later on. Idk what to do but I have tried the reg keys for it, O&O shutup 10 and win10privacy and all fail to disable web search. Is this some weird bug related to not being connected that fixes itself down the line or is there something like tamper protection was to windows defender hidden somewhere I need to turn off to get it to work. Even setting it in group policy does jack s**t.
Did you restart your PC afterwards? And did you also switch off all 3? I switched these 3 off for the test and then I no longer got any web results.
Yeah switched off all 3 was ur install a fresh never connected to the internet one or has this install settled for a bit?
It was my 19041 Hyper-V VM, not a fresh install. During the setup process, the internet was turned off, later, to do updates, I turned it on.
Try to relink Notepad with the file extension. Right click on a .txt file > Open with > Select another app > Notepad Can you start Notepad manually?
no, i cant run notepad.exe on windows folder ... i have replace notepad.exe from another laptop and not working, this problem occurred after update to 172
CU.172 - Same update error on my notebook as before (logout/update text switches from English to Hungarian, then login failures after the reboot). I wonder if installing the Hungarian language pack (it is not installed right now, may be it was installed for guests on some earlier builds and then removed either manually or automatically by build upgrades, I really don't remember) and switching to Hungarian before installing this CU could get me around this bug. Unless I can solve this soon (I am still on .1 which probably misses some security updates as well by now) I will have to either clean-install (which would be painful due to tricky software license managers with limited number of re-activation counters during product lifetime and such and such) or find refuge on the Fast ring for 6-12 months (I tried upgrading to a Fast ring Preview build and that went smooth, as well as the roll-back to 20H1).
For people having errors u going to have to bite the bullet and do a clean install, i was having error issues with this build did a clean install all the issues went away.
