thats a long time from now....i would figure the complete version would be out on the market by then.
Reminds me of the Windows 8.1 RTM update. Guess they're going gold early when they launch it in July an maybe release this one for GA?
It is better to update your thread with new information. 10107.0.150423-2054.th2_CLIENTENTERPRISE_VOL_x64fre_en-us.esd has been built on 24/04/2015 15:32:48 Probably the very first Threshold build which will be shown in Developer Build Conference and released in a month or two
What this says to me is that microsoft is rushing out a version of windows 10 by early summer so that all of the manufacturers can get it in their pcs and tablets before the back to school buying frenzy. However this version isn't everything they want it to be so then can have a parallel development effort to get the REAL 10 done by the fall.
Looks like they are rushing out Windows 10 with very little fixing bug wise. This looks to be a mess or a train wreck in progress hehehe Side note... Pretty gold emblem.
meanwhile to me it seems that escrow > gold RTM are things of the past. they define a build to be ready one day and deploy it and when it is incomplete they simply put out some more data if necessary and so on
This is a road map for disaster. This is not an age where bugs should be treated as they come with little or no testing done. This is an age of exploitation where bugs should be treated with the holes they create. I can't wait until the security people literally rip MS a new one because releasing an entire OS half baked is simple idiocy. @orlaf: You should be more concerned at bugs than substantial changes.
On this i agree with you, if microsoft wrong in this way there will be a serious impact on its sales (assuming that there is someone crazy enough to install new windows)
That`s so true Paul M$ will push out their new operating system regardless of bugs in previous builds I think they will release updates to patch & apply fixes once the system is on users machines. M$ will promote how to obtain the a free version of windows 10 & may only apply minor fixes during the first year . Then to obtain a full working windows 10 the user must pay but now it will be called windows 10.1
Do not forget that the UI changes are much easier to accomplish, then someone should not worry about what is best to finish first, but for microsoft seems an extremely difficult mission
I am not looking at the overall UI changes so much as the stability of the entire operating system. If they release in its current form I will not touch the OS until SP2 or Update 2 at the very least. I will not use an operating system that ignored bugs that could be leveraged to exploit security vulnerabilities left in through haste to get better sales.
This was something so obvious that i have not even considered, sure that their development has slowed down a lot, we are at a stage still precarious, for this i have focused my attention on the one thing that they insist on not wanting to improve
