    how to get out of S mode

    edit: simply set secure boot to Microsoft & 3rd party apps. Instead of Microsoft alone.

    Apparently, upon installing Windows 11 SE on to a PC with Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 enabled, the OS does something to the machine which basically transforms it into a SE-only or S-Mode-only computer.

    As a result, from now on, every time you reinstall Windows 11, regardless of the SKU you choose, the OS will install itself in S-Mode!

    You can’t get out of S-Mode because the Microsoft Store refuses to run.

    - To disable this “SE Mode” you have to go into the UEFI and disable the TPM as well as Secure Boot, start Windows normally, SE mode is disabled.

    - Thanks to this now I know ALL Windows 11 SKUs have an S-Mode LMAO.

    Oh yeah, and BTW, the new colorful Bloom wallpaper ISN'T on Windows 11 SE build 22504.
    It just uses the default blue one.

    Do not change the PC name, it'll work :) The restart screws up the installation.

    It's curious that it actually writes changes to the PCs TPM... and locks the machine to only accept Windows 11 in S Mode.

    Keep in mind that if it locks your machine to S mode you'll have to clear the TPM to go back to normal.

    When I use uupdump, will the Windows 11 SE image automatically include the Minecraft Education client as well ?

    No, only when you include it in the virtual edition list.

    Code:
    [create_virtual_editions]
    vAutoStart   =1
    vDeleteSource=1 <--- will delete the source index = pro for education and cloudedition, when you want pro to be kept in the install.wim set it to "0"
    vPreserve    =0
    vwim2esd     =0
    vSkipISO     =0
    vAutoEditions=CloudEdition,Education <--- editions to be created from the source index (pro in this scenario)

    Progress of the settings above:
    Code:
