    No, uupdump will only create the base edition, converted from Pro

    any "additional" apps will need original Windows 11 SE ISO

    There is indeed a C:\ drive on Windows 11 SE. (thats where all your allowed programs get installed to anyway)

    You cant see it in your beloved explorer though. It is NOT there.

    But installing a tool like winrar for example, enables you to browse all folders on the C:\ drive normally.
    (Program, Files, Windows, System32)

    Copy and paste files or create new folders.

    Some folders are still protected and some tools and apps will hand out errors on installation, as they couldnt acces this and that...but the programs will run anyway.

    The store wont (really) run on Windows 11 SE, as it is blocked. For some reason, if you are fast enough after the bootup process, you CAN access the store shortly.

    Regarding "Microsoft Education", the Setup.exe as direct download will install and run just fine in Windows 11 SE.

    By now I havent come across 1 app/game/tool that wouldnt install, so I guess it is all about beeing the admin account here and there arent official, uhm ,regulations ? (see examples above)

    5 months later, the announced "Windows 11 SE" devices are still mostly available in the USA, but/or either "Out of stock" or "backordered".
    Though, some made it out of the USA by now, to the UK for example.

    Some of the SE devices that were meant to be released by others (Acer, ASUS, Fujitsu etc.) are either only available with "Windows 11 Pro" or not yet released.

    I read that "more might happen around june 2022", when most of the bigger Educational Gatherings/Events begin.

    Either Microsoft or resellers dont make it very easy to get your hands on it as a school from outside of the USA.
    Even additional informations on "how to purchase" arent widely spread (yet).

    Most tests say it is running Minecraft Education perfectly (well, most 10 year old devices can do that) and that browsing and Office are no problems.
    But, also because of the restrictions, noone (could) test(ed) it using Benchmarks or Video Streaming.

    By now I tested it on one 11 year old laptop:
    (Pentium B940 (2C) + Intel HD Graphics 2000 + SSD + 4GB DDR3 RAM) and surfing as well as youtube is indeed working okay (up to 1080p) once it calmed down from its 4GB RAM problem. :p

    Heaven Benchmark (DX11) can be installed and started with 4 FPS. :p

    So, a Celeron N4120 and Intel UHD 600 with 8GB of DDR4 RAM should make some difference here on the slim Windows 11 SE.
    Hence I believe these laptops could be indeed a nice school device. (if purchased in masses, for less the 249$ each, that is)

    Anyone here got his hands on an official SE Laptop by now and could share some Benchmarks, youtube experience etc. ?

    I read different reviews on reddit, xda and others sites by now, but maybe someone here is into this as well ?

    good grief. store "engine" is still there. how do you think ltsc gets dch driver uwp panels?
    WindowsStore AutoDownload "2" policy is the one for ltsc to prevent those panels from automatic downloading and installing

    Has anyone been able to install approved 3rd party applications, such as Chrome and Zoom on the Windows 11 SE laptops?

    Yes, I faithfully followed the directions, what little there is, to download the .msi from an approved vendor, created the .intunewin file, uploaded it to EndPointManager and assigned via Intune for Education to 3 laptops with different OS: Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Pro, Windows 11 SE. Installation was successful on the Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11Pro laptops but fails on the Windows 11 SE. I have tried Zoom, Chrome, GoGuardian and NWEA, all approved by Microsoft. Microsoft even approved my helpdesk ticket and the tech in India said all my Intune settings are correct, but he was not an Intune for Education specialist working directly with the Windows 11 SE laptops, just an Intune technician. Everyone says it should theoretically install but I have not talked to a single person who has actually made it work not even a representative from the software vendors has attest to successfully installing it, they just say its approved. I am trying to find another person who is working with the Windows 11 SE laptops for school. This is the only forum I have found that even recognizes the existence of the Window 11 SE operating system.

    What is the difference between SKUPolicyRequired and EmodePolicyRequired? Both of them seem to turn on S-Mode but only EmodePolicyRequired removes the watermarks.

    I figured out how to install Windows 11 SE using a standard media set but getting my PC out of the "Emode" variety of S-mode is such a nightmare I'm reluctant to continue developing this method.

    Here's what I have so far:
    Create in USB flash drive using the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool
    In the root directory create a new deployment folder. The name doesn't matter but my setup file uses relative paths to the rest of the media so the location is necessary.
    Copy the file Setup.bat to the deployment folder.

    Code:
    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
    ::                                           ::
    :: Batch file for installing Windows 11 SE ::
    ::  Created by Bezalel                       ::
    ::                                           ::
    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    @cls
    @rem setup.bat

    :: Clean disk and setup partitions
    diskpart /s CreatePartitions-UEFI.txt

    :: Apply the image for Professional Edition
    dism /Apply-Image /ImageFile:\sources\install.esd /Index:6 /ApplyDir:W:\

    :: Upgrade from Pro to SE
    dism /image:W:\ /Set-Edition:CloudEdition

    :: Turn on S Mode
    reg load HKLM\temp W:\windows\system32\config\system
    reg add HKLM\temp\ControlSet001\Control\CI\Policy /v EmodePolicyRequired /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
    reg unload HKLM\temp

    :: Install drivers
    dism /image:W:\ /Add-Driver /driver:drivers /recurse

    :: Create boot entry
    W:\Windows\System32\bcdboot W:\Windows /s S:

    :: Setup RE tools partition
    md T:\Recovery\WindowsRE
    xcopy /h W:\Windows\System32\Recovery\Winre.wim T:\Recovery\WindowsRE\
    W:\Windows\System32\Reagentc /Setreimage /Path T:\Recovery\WindowsRE /Target W:\Windows

    @pause
    exit
    Copy the file CreatePartitions-UEFI.txt to the deployment folder.

    Code:
    rem == CreatePartitions-UEFI.txt ==
    rem == These commands are used with DiskPart to
    rem    create four partitions
    rem    for a UEFI/GPT-based PC.

    rem size of the recovery tools

    rem == c. Prepare the Windows partition =========

    gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001
    list volume
    exit

    Create a folder called drivers and copy into it, any drivers you want to include.

    Boot your PC to the USB Flash drive.
    Get to a repair command prompt.
    change the working directory to the deployment folder.
    run setup.bat.
