I've had this weird permission error in every build of Windows 10 since the LXX was released. Whenever I make a .wim image of my Windows 10 install, the image is always created with no errors. But, when I go to apply it, it fails with this permission error: Opening WIM... Image contains 42957 folders and 190607 files. Starting apply... ERROR: D:\Users\M\AppData\Local\Packages\CanonicalGroupLimited.UbuntuonWindows_79rhkp1fndgsc\LocalState\rootfs\usr\lib\x86_64-linux-gnu\xtables\libip6t_hl.so [err = 5] ERROR: Error applying WIM. ERROR: Access is denied Does anyone have any idea how this can be fixed? Again, this only happens when the Ubuntu Linux Subsystem is installed.
I just made a new image using dism instead of gimagex using the /ea switch. image was made just fine. restoring failed again at the very same point.
Just to confirm, this error still happens. This is very confusing to say the least. I've even tried using the newest dism and images made including the WSL installed and used at least once cannot be restored as the above error is always encountered.
