Display goes off after switching on for quite sometime.

    Hi, I encounter a problem with my com after i have installed Win7..

    previously, i have WinXP.. then i followed the The Official Windows 7 Repository guide to install win7..

    After my com is on for a several hours..
    The display is switched off suddenly..
    pressing any key did not help..
    but the CPU is on.. and pressing caps lock and stuffs does not toggle the light on my keyboard after it hang..

    I assume is my com overheating..
    but when i had winXP.. i do not have this prob b4..
    or is there anything i should update in win7 to correct this prob?


    I seek for the help of the community to solve my prob.. greatly appreciated~ =)

    maybe you have the monitor set to switch off to save power in you power plan settings,

    Check the event logs for any critical errors, especially ones that have the ID of 41 and the description of "Kernel-Power" It sounds like that could be you issue. It is a ongoing issue with win7 that are affecting a lot of ppl and I think you might be one of them dude. Are you getting any freezing while doing stuff on your computer or only when it is idle? That is key. Let me know so I can help you further dude.
