Bro, the registry value exists..search it properly in the registry editor...I have done this hack in my netbook & it works flawlessly
yes i started the install of the win7 driver but i got a unknown error at the end so it didt install.i also tryed the compatabilily mode. beleave me its not there bro iv have feeling i did this hack on the win8 consumer preview way back. is it possible its changed in the rtm??
Forget the downscale thing, it's ugly as your favorite pest. Usable only for Metro apps, which are a pest as well.
DUDE, it is there it was there in all of the Win 8 versions & it's there in the RTM search the registry properly or even better do a manual search taking help from the article u posted above...I also thought that MS had removed this hack but,it's there
i did it all. as a experiment i added the key "display1_downscalingsupported" then did a search.and it only found the one i added.
No,no,no u shouldn't have added that key on your own....delete it & plz tell me which display driver you are currently using? The one that came preinstalled with Windows?
contact Dell as this is not ok. The driver, even W7 version should be ok until an 8 version comes out one day. When using the 7 driver from Dell u should be able to do the downscale procedure. Not sure it is available with the generic version
ok thx. it seems to very depending on which make you have..........and for some people its not there at all
Hmm...apparently I found 2 registry keys which were unique to my netbook & was not present in my desktop (that's weird I have the same version of Windows installed on both PCs )...here's the registry entry which contained the key Display1_DownScalingSupported it was :- Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Video\{23D768E9-57CA-45CE-AB4C-14EBE0A60599}\0000
well i found another driver on the intel site. installed it and like magic i found the "display1_downscalingsupported" appeared . but it looks crap with the hack.so im sticking to 1024x600.
