I tried andy's tool and the tatto cd shows no change to slic 1.0. Is there an option that needs to be checked?
You may try the DMICfg program on the cd also. You just need to add the string to dmi properly.. Any intel board is gonna be a crapshoot, at best....
used TATTOO also today and was able to successfully activate WHS...this was on a test board.. after re-installing whs on my main box, and running TATTOO.. its giving me a prompt : "DUDE THERE IS NO WINDOWS CD.... " what gives?
The cd does not work properly with some SATA. I dont think it will work very well at all with AHCI.. EIDE only im afraid..
It's a BCM board with AMI bios. The DMI is read-only apparently. DMIcfg gives read-only error. Andy's tool does not change the slp1.0, still "BCM". I noticed the dump dir in Andy's tool is the decompiled roms. Is there a tool to edit the roms for HP SLP 1.0 and recompile the roms back to the single rom? mmTools? cdrom? Thanks
MMTOOL and hex editor. I can do it for you if you like. You cannot add just any SLP with the tools, only those valid in the range it places them. BCM will likely be there also, it is possible to have more than one.. Link me the bios and I will attempt for you..The 1b module and $ODB$ string is likely not read only.. CBROM is for Award bios...
Someone PM'ed me a modified copy of the DMI boot disk and said they added SATA support. Will test it out sometime tomorrow and if it boots from my sata dvd burner I will upload it here.
There is a large difference between the addresses of the DMI and the $ODB$. I did not write the data in the DMI..Would you like it there??? This is a better solution to the problem, and is standard fare for the AMI bios..
