I searched looking for an answer before posting this but there is so much info it's over whelming! Anyhow I could not find an answer to my question; are any of these activation methods expected to work beyond March of 2010?

    If so which one?

    Thanks in advance, johnnieq. :)

The Loaders and bios mods are expected to work beyond march 2010.

The loader can be blocked by MS in the future or the current OEM SLP keys blacklisted, but new keys will be available on October 22nd.

Bios Mods will remain working forever.

    Thanks !

OK, Thanks! I had read in several places that nothing would last past March 2010 but perhaps that was with the initial loader activators. I'm so glad to hear that's now wrong.

I guess I'll need to try the BIOS mod!

    Thanks again!

    johnnieq :)

Those are the activation cr**ks that replace the token and some other files with RC versions. It basically makes your Install think like RC?..

Those are ancient and should be avoided..there are still some out there..(timer etc..)

there is no 100% guarantee but yes they will work "forever". The advantage of a bios mod is that it's a "true" OEM activation.

Well excuse my slight exaggeration lol

Forever may be a little extreme but as said above they are true oem and with a key from after 22/10/09 they will work, as they key will not likely ever be blacklisted.

you only need an OEM SLP key and a cert which matches with your bios' slic table.

btw, I currently activate my win7 with a loader but I'm thinking of modding my bios (got a p5n-d which is in the repository and seems to be tested and working) with a slic2.1 enabled one. Do I have to remove the loader first, or better do a fresh install or can I flash my bios and remove the loader afterwards?

    @johnnieq

Do a simple test to check it yourself. Set your machine time beyond March 2010, to be sure make it March 2050 and restart the system. See what happens. If you don't want to risk it, install win7 in a virtual machine, do the same and test it by yourself. :D

As far as I checked, it works ...

de drivers auto-downloaded by WU are meant for windows operating system only. If WU messes up with BIOSes, Microsoft company will be closed/fail.

bios update by Windows Update? NO! M$ offers updates for the OS ONLY.
