Does a loader work if there's no 200Mb boot partition? I have a machine which had xp on it, I resized the xp partition & asked win7 to install to the unallocated space. For some reason it didn't create the 200Mb partition - any ideas why not? And if I use Daz's loader, will it still work without the 200Mb partition?
Are you referring to the hidden system partition? AFAIK at pre-partitioned HDDs it doesn't create it............btw it is a 100Mbyte partition...
Oddly on 1 machine with existing partitions it made it, and on another with existing partitions it didn't! Anyway, will the loaders work in its absence?
I long reformatted my drive. unallocated all space. Formatted with 7. Had no issues. I also made sure my recovery partition was gone. Being it was vista basic...lol no need for vista. Let alone basic anything.
That's great, thanks for the info. Does it modify files in the first partition (XP in my case) or in the win7 partition instead then?
Daz is being misleading. Almost ALL loader tools work with the hidden partition, mine included. Besides its 100MB in 7 RTM
Hmm. That's weird. I activated using your loader and some of the other loader and always successfull and I got no hidden partition
I'm not being misleading, he clearly asked if my loader will work with or without the hidden partition, to which I have replied with the answer.
Can someone give a straight answer. 1) What win 7 loaders work if there is no hidden system partition? 2) What loaders work if there is a hidden recovery partition? 3) What loaders work if there is a hidden recovery partition and a hidden system partition? For all three questions we limit the question to one hd, hd0.
Well I'm not sure about which others, but I know from feedback that my own tool will work on all 3 of the given points. I think its most of the current released batch files that may have trouble. I say current because I know Hazar still plans to use batch over .NET for his next update (although with the partition being defined differently).
