After doing a scan with the latest version of hitman pro it detected PerfStringBackup.INI as a suspicious file and said it had malware/rootkit properties. However i also did scans with MSE, malwarebytes and superantispyware and they came up clean. Anyone have more information on this file or if it is safe to delete? When i click on the file it opens up in notepad and it is blank, but the file is listed as 6KB.

Thanks for the quick response, i checked out the link, not really sure what they were talking about, however; i am able to delete that file and the performance monitor still seems to load up, though i never use it. It did display some popup error, but my system seems to be working fine, i also copied over PerfStringBackup.INI that was from another system and the performance monitor stil loads up with the popup error, oh well as long as my system works, should be good enough.
