I'm sorry. Next time I will post exactly the link I read 15 days earlier to avoid any discomfort to you
anymore info about this? I'd love to install x64 on a new machine but missing some drivers. i have 2003 and vista drivers but how to make them work with XP64?
Yeah. Good luck with that. What Micro$oft really needed at that point in time was a crystal ball and "forward compatibility"... And backward compatibility for that matter. They had none of that for XP x64, and that is a shame.
im just interested in how T-S modified the .infs. xp64 runs like a champ on several much newer systems i have but one of them i need a driver and theres no way it will be available so a driver file hack is worth a shot.
i would use xp64 over w7 on kaveri if i could find all the chipset drivers. ahci doesnt exist for xp64, so its back to the ide driver, fine, but i cannot find a 64bit display driver that works.
Basically you need to "decorate" the 32 bit infs (there where a bunch of tutorials about that, jus google a bit) Then use the sys/dll/exe from a corresponding vista driver. You may need to rename them or to adjust the names inside the inf.
alas my time with xp has come to an end. the final problem with 7 is now fixed so i have no need for xp anymore, or sticking to compatible kaveri hardware. so so long xp my old friend, it has been a long road, sometimes fun, sometimes not, but it was a long journey together nonetheless.
