This feels like they didn't get the thing down pat before they released it. There little stupid bugs and some annoying big ones which make it feel half-baked like windows 7 did when it was released. Anyone one else having this experience or is it confined to certain versions of windows 8.1?
It was buggy as hell when I upgraded from 8, but after a refresh it's totally fine, nice and smooth, fast, bug free
never faced any issues with 8.1 on many different machines. Perhaps the reason is that I don't mess with files which I don't know how to deal with
I have problems even pinning stuff to the start menu but maybe as mentioned its the upgrade process that messed up and no the actual 8.1.
here is a bug that you can reproduce yourself go to: Computer > Users > Your User Name > try cutting documents / pics / music / videos / downloads to let's say, D:\ driver for example the explorer copy / progress would just freeze the problem is with the Pictures folder, it cannot be moved by cutting / pasting, all other folders are fine To move the pictures folder, you have to: Open Computer (AKA This PC), then right click on the Pictures Folder, then choose Move, and manually move it from there not via Explorer as we used to do before half baked OS, yes indeed I was hoping the GA updates would fix this but nope, same old buggy s**tz
I have some issues and things that annoys me with windows 8.1 Running 2 flash videos at the same will crash win8.1. could be the AMD driver. Favorites gets unpinned when switching to fullscreen and back to window. No aero transparent, I can't use black colors on the desktop, I can't see the text in the top border. Can't use Modern skydrive app on local account. Modern apps can't run in a window on the desktop. (I don't use Modernmix, it is a bit buggy) Mouse lagging in games. A lot of event errors. I am back on Windows 7.
No it doesn't, at least for me is perfect, I don't miss Aero transparency and I use a grey theme for the desktop. =)
lol .. if you'd asked first prior to opening a thread upon your bad system, all would have given you the same answer
for me sucks in many way's, metro is not for a desktop, battlefield 3 even cannot run fine for me at last, for me!
TL;DR I have been on Windows 8.1 since and I have yet to have any problems other then the camera app not functioning but I believe that has to do with my camera which has an occasional short.
