Download cap?

    I have a pretty good setup, will give details if needed. I have a general question about downloading. I am downloading games from programs like Steam or other sites getting general programs.When I download multiple items it seems like I am capped at 4mbs(total). I know that the server and ISP I use makes a difference. My question is: is there a hardware cap on my download speed and is there a way to get rid of it? It's not like I really need more than 4mps but thought it would be nice. Any thoughts?

    thanks, just wondering if it was hardware as I got like 22mpb when dnloading from asus to get drivers( my motherboard drivers ) which is why I asked

    It will spike a bit at start but it will go down quick.

    Can be problems with half opened ports if you're using XP, Germans has made good thing - EventID 4226 Patcher Version 2.23d, open more ports, if it's not XP, then you should have friend at ISP like r29k mentioned ;)
