I'm planned to download windows 7 from digital river link that posted by armada n yesterday I've almost finish but suddenly this damn internet connection (I used wireless connection with download speed 25 KB/s, so u can guess how many days I've spent to finish it) broken, I've try to resume the download but the download manager (I used internet download manager 5.18) said the connection time out. So I start this over with different download manager (free download manager) but I've got the same messages "connection time out" aaaargh Do I have to download the torrent link provided by opa or anyone can suggest any download manager so I can finish download the file? I really wanna try the rtm version of windows 7 that untouched so I can modded by myself cuz I can't seem to find it here (almost the store here offered some pirate cd that supplied by warez site, full of crack n removed feature, so I don't want it). Any suggestion or comment r welcome cuz I'm so desperated here!
Why not just try downloading it again from the beginning? If you loose the connection again then you have some wireless or router/modem issue. Try any download manager that lets you pause downloads and try them. Personally I prefer Download Accelerator Plus(DAP) but Internet Download Manager(IDM) works good too dude.
i also used IDM 5.18 and it worked . you just have to be patient in downloading. just like in my case i downloaded it for 3 days because same as you i have a slow connection but it was all worthwhile
Hello, if the file you loaded has the same hash than one of many torrents, you can take the iso file that you cannot resume, you begin the download with utorrent (or other), overwrite the zero% file with the famous not finished file, restart the torrent, and you maybe could restart the download using utorrent. I perfectly understand you, ar_seven_am, at home, none of 20xx internet technology reach my house (DSL, cable, microwave, etc), so i use the old 56k modem (i have 2 phone lines, and an old pentium 2 shares the net over ethernet), i load at 4-5 kb/s, and i upload at 2-3kb/sec, so when a download breaks, especially a download like Windows 7, i want to kill all in house, so i avoid direct downloads, and i use torrent, when possible. Hope my clue can help you to resume the download
I said that i use a Pentium 2 to share the Internet over my network, my machine is not a pentium 2, but more an AMD Athlon x2 3800+, ASUS M2NPV-VM with modded bios (DELL QA09 2.1), 6GB of DDR2-800, 1 TB HDD + 1.5TB HDD.
What do you mean dude? Are you using a server that runs off of a Pentium 2 to send the internet to your computer? If so that might be the reason right there lol. I am kinda confused to what you mean though. As far as I know routers don't have CPU's in them.
Yes it's an old computer that i use as server [p2 @ 333 mhz, 512 MB of SDRAM 133, 8 GB + 20 GB, Windows Server 2003] (router + proxy + dhcp + local dns). I use Kerio Winroute Firewall as router software I use a server because i have other computers at home, even if it's not fast (around 5 kb/s in down), i can have Internet on all computer (my mom's computer, my laptop, and my computer)
I downloaded Win7 with BitComet > Its the best program for torrent and other downloads I downloaded Win7 from an upload page with bitcomet. And all u have to do is to dubble click on the file u want to stop/pause and start again. it works great! I have s**tty inet myself...
To be honest,i downloaded the win7 iso with a speed of 15 kbs,and vista sp2 too,it took nearly a month, but i am satisfied with it.
frankly speaking i just downloaded my xp sp3 os with mobile GPRS connection with 15 kbps within 3 1/2 day, with the help of utorent. utorrent is not active for 24 hours per day only 16 to 20 hours per day. same i tried with vista sp1 but this time it takes 7 to 10 days, same GPRS and utorrent. but i did it. i am happy with my GRPS connection anyway till now.
