Probably give Mint a miss Hi Guys I have been looking closely at Ubuntu and its derivatives and it would appear that Ubuntu is getting a lot of flack for being poorly built and unstable. The guys at Zorin for example are looking to go back to Debian as a base as they are becoming more and more disenchanted with Ubuntu. The same grumbles can be seen on the Mint forum relating to their Debian based project. Flaws in Ubuntu will have a knock on effect with all the derivatives including Mint and Zorin. Trimming down Mint or any other Ubuntu based distro is not recommended as it would appear that Ubuntu is constructed just like Windows, interfere with the "base Package" and the whole deck of cards becomes very unstable, its not a job for amateurs. After trying a load of different distros its Zorin for me for the moment even though the LTS has just ended everything works flawlessly in a very familiar setting just from a pen drive. I have just got to tidy up my PC before I go ahead and install it. I might just hang on a little longer to give Mint KDE a try
@Kim100, Ubuntu actually lost market share. But Linux Mint is another level. I'll wait for version 17 Final KDE and take a chance
Its all very frustrating, I am still not sure. I looked at the Mint KDE RC release today, it looks really nice
I tested and used more Linux distro's from Ubuntu to Puppy...but i don't know what's happen but stuck with Mint 17 KDE.Works lie a charm without issues...What can I say..?I am happy...for now
It is a friendly distro! I'm hoping the final version arrives. Then I'll show you an amazing Linux! "P
