Been using Winamp in my pc life for 13 years. I feel like I have just lost something today, there's not many programs that I miss when there gone. Winamp will be hard to replace. R.I.P. Winamp.
It really is a beautiful player. Today I will have to look elsewhere to eventually replace it. Regards,
I used to use Winamp years ago but since it was purchased by AOL some years ago the player has become nothing but bloatware so I abandoned it a long time ago. AOL took a perfectly good player and ruined it or should I say "ran it into the ground", literally. Seems everything AOL touches turns into turds sooner or later. These days I use VLC for my video needs and Aimp for all my audio needs.
Why replace it? The software will not stop working just because they will shut down and stop releasing new version. I use Winamp lite, it's great. I think the full version is bloated and lite is just perfect
Nullsoft was apparently bought by a company called Radionomy. Most likely Winamp will continue to live on
