Downloading software to a different partition in Windows 7

    My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. In Windows, when downloading software, movies etc. from the internet, these things usually go, by default, to Program Files, or the User Folder. Is it possible to down load software, movies etc. from the internet directly to another partition, different from the OS partition?

    I am new here :)

    That depends on the internetbrowser you use, or do you mean the temp folders/files?

    Typically, you can change the default download behavior via:

    Options | Settings -> Download section: choose "Always ask me where to save files" or "Ask where to save each file before downloading"

    OP mentions default being program files, looks like they're asking to change the default partition install location
