Hi to everybody, for personal reasons, to use a computer, I need the program Dragon Naturally Speaking. Whit the Technical Preview build 9860 e 9879 everything worked fine, but with the January Technical Preview build 9926 the program doesn't install any more and anyway it still doesn't work. Have any of you had a chance to try it? Thank You.
if is a older version....is not compatible....and if is a new version and dont run.....u my have to wait for the vendor to release a update patch.....try right click and run as admin see if it launches.
I own the version 11, but I've also tried with version 12.5, and none of these works. I think I have to wait for a patch by the producer ...... Thank you for the answers.
I could be wrong with this: maybe the problem is Cortana related. Cortana uses a new Speech Engine AFAIK and those may come in crash with the one from Dragon.
As I told: just a guess! May it works if you could disable the Cortana Speech Engine, just a guess and I could be wrong!
It was not enough to disable Cortana, nothing has changed. Now I'll do some tests (not recommended) hiding folders that contain files of Cortana and files of speech engine (if I find them).
listen u have to wait until the final release is out and the rest of the vendor catch up to release patches and drivers......sounds like your using this as your primary machine.....this is for testing purposes only.
I use Windows 10 only for testing purposes, but I can not use it without Dragon, so I was making some try to understand if it could be possible. For now it is'nt.
What's the problem that you couldn't use Windows 10 without the use of Dragon? Are you disabled/handicapped for to write and/or use the Mouse etc.? If you're a legal user of Dragon, I would suggest that you contact the Developer and explain the problems. For the time till Windows 10 is released as RTM, there will be still quite a bit of developers for to 'adjust' their apps for proper work and even some will need much longer!! That problem isn't MS related, to be very clear and honest, it's related to the developer of such apps. Regarding Cortana and/or the MS Speech Engine, I'm really unsure that those could be disabled fully! And as I told already, I'm not sure it affects Dragon in any means, it was just a guess!!
Hi pisthai, yes I'm disabled and I can not use a mouse and keyboard. I am a legal user of Dragon and I have already contacted the developer who told me that Windows 10 is not yet compatible with their program. I just wanted only to try to make it work because it seems better than Windows 8.1 I think your guess of the speech engine was good as I too believe that it can not completely disable. Thanks anyway for anything.
I'm sorry with that! For the time being, I do believe you should still stay with Windows 8.x because that will let you do your 'work' and that's what counts. Windows 10 is still in an to early stage for many different Software Tools and the developer of those 3.party tools are still waiting even to start with the 'adjustment' of their product's. In reality, it's even not sure that the developer of Dragon will be finish in time for the RTM with their needed changes. I've an similar problem with my famous Remote Control Apps RAdmin, which works, but efficient because the Mouse Cursor disappear from the server's display at the same moment I go to control the server by remote connection. As it's many time needed for the server operator to 'see' what I'm doing via remote, that isn't possible suing Windows 10. And the developer clearly explained to me that they need to wait for the RTM before they could do the needed changes because of lack of info getting form OS because MS prefers their own remote system. That could simply the same for Dragon while MS will force to have their own Speech Recognition system ready before others! In some point understandable!
