I tried the registry hacks I though could forever disable win 10's update to win 10 1607 aka 1607

To no avail it will only buy time for several months only.

Is it feasible then to dual a dual boot for win 7WMC and Win 10 (1607?)

I never did a dual boot before.

When you back up with Ghost or Acronis can you choose which or both to back up?

If and when 1607 can work with WMC would I just be able to wipe Win 7 and reclaim that SSD's Space?

Most importantly, can I teamview at the splash screen to control the PC remotely?

    Thanks !

Dual boot Win 7 / Win 10 shouldn't be a problem, as long as they are installed on seperate partitions. Both windows versions are sovereign os's, so why should tv not work?

I only don't know what WMC means in combination with win 7?

Windows Media Center does not work in the Anniversary edition of Windows 10 unfortunately.
Hate doing a dual boot but there is no way to prevent the update forever just a few months.

Just use LTSB 2015 + WMC if you want both W10 and WMC w/o dual boot and w/o any forced upgrade

I'd love to but one cannot just purchase the product key for that edition :(

With 8.1, is it best to purchase WMC add on (If one still can) or use the MDL version?

Just use one of the KMS solutions

I think you can't buy a WMC key now. You can use a KMS solution, same as above, or you can get any Win8.1 and install the WMC package meant for W10, it works perfectly on W8.1/Server 2012R2 as well

    Is KMS solution permanent?

KMSpico, MTK2.6.1 ez-activator and KMS_VL_ALL by abbodi1406 are "permanent" because they install a service which frequently re-activates windows.

    With some caveats:
    1. An antivirus program can prevent running or deletes such service
    2. Antivirus program interferes with renewal process for re-activation.
    3. Anything related to KMS activator could go wrong for any reason.

Real permanent activation is given by:
    1. OEM activation
    2. MAK activation

It depends on your definition of permanent. Real wmc versions will stay activated for 45 days since the last activation, other versions will stay activated for 180 days since the last activation.

Given you can set the KMS service to reactivate on each boot or on each day this is permanent for me.

Little confused, what do you mean by "real WMC versions"?

Lastly, you are the guru here, do you think WMC on Win 10 1607 will be a reality with support for cable cards somewhere down the road?

    Thanks!

I will try KMSPICO 2.0 with win 10 LTSB 2015.

My concern is that I read that activator can convert Ent version to PRO license thereby defeating the ability to prevent updates.

    Is this the case?

    Thanks so much !

KMS is not an "activator", is one of the official ways to activate Windows

    1. Exclude the files from being scanned.
    2. Dito
    3. That can be applied to all in live.

    1. Yes
    2. Only when you officially/legaly bought one

My answer was about the "permanency" of the kms emulation solutions.

No such thing as permanent kms activation. It required activation every 180 days.

It sounds like permanent because kms activation is installed as a service and activated every day. And the smart ones will set it to run every month to avoid wasting unnecessary computer processing
