I was curious if anyone has tried this. I am getting stuck at the hard drive select screen. It is saying i have a gpt partition yet it is ntfs.

My recommendation is to create an Virtual Hard Drive using Diskmgmt.msc, then boot to the Windows 10 Preview installation, attach the VHD using diskpart and install Windows 10 to that attached VHD.

    Me too.
you can use diskpart after boot technical preview and before press install.

I still don't understand why people are still trying to use this kind of old technique like dual boot, whereas VHD/VHDx native boot has been available for more than 5 years.

gpt and ntfs are two different things. gpt is the partitioning scheme ntfs is the filesystem scheme. what is your problem? it won't install? select the partition you want to install and hit ok. i've had issues with an older motherboard and now i just use dism to apply the image, and bcdboot to add it to the OS list. a lot quicker imho.
