I have a Pentium 4 computer that is a Dual boot with windows XP and Ubuntu Linux using Grub. The computer does boot up into Grub and I can select Windows XP. After selecting Windows XP I get this Message: Error 22, no such partition, press any key to continue. Both operating systems are on one hard drive. Any ideas on how to fix this> Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
boot ubuntu .. open terminal and type sudo update-grub if that dont work... show me the file /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Thanks LatinMcg for your help. Unfortunatrely, I have not used Ubuntu in quite a while and I have forgotten my User name. Is there any way to get into Ubuntu without the user name??? Thanks again.
reset pwd with a bootable live usb/cd version ?? or just boot windows xp recovery console from cd.(repair) then to check disk and fix type chkdsk /p then to fix bootsector and master boot record type fixboot fixmbr
ok, I did the boot windows xp recovery console method and did as you said. When I now start the computer I just get a blinking cursor in the upper left hand side of the monitor and that is all. Any ideas??? Thanks for your help.
