I have a Pentium 4 computer that is a Dual boot with windows XP and Ubuntu Linux using Grub. The computer does boot up into Grub and I can select Windows XP. After selecting Windows XP I get this Message:
Error 22, no such partition, press any key to continue.

Both operating systems are on one hard drive.

Any ideas on how to fix this>

Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks LatinMcg for your help.
Unfortunatrely, I have not used Ubuntu in quite a while and I have forgotten my User name. Is there any way to get into Ubuntu without the user name??? Thanks again.

reset pwd with a bootable live usb/cd version ??

or just boot windows xp recovery console from cd.(repair)
then to check disk and fix type chkdsk /p

then to fix bootsector and master boot record
    type
    fixboot
    fixmbr

ok, I did the boot windows xp recovery console method and did as you said. When I now start the computer I just get a blinking cursor in the upper left hand side of the monitor and that is all. Any ideas??? Thanks for your help.

Sorry for the delay. Had to work for several weeks. I downloaded and burned Hirens boot CD version 15.1

I am a little mover my head here. Can you please give me instructions on how to fix this problem using Hirens boot CD. Thanks again

I am trying to repare this so I do not loose any data since I was not smart enough to have backed it up.
