Have Win 7 on C and Win 8 RTM on D drive.

At first I get the dual boot screen.
    Then I set W 7 as default (under W8).
Now there is no dual boot screen and boots directly to W7.
    AND:Activation for W7 is gone.
    With EasyBCD I correct bootloader.
But after reboot from W8 to W7 activation for W 7 is gone again ?

When setting Windows 7 as the default OS it should switch to the older boot menu which will still give you the option to boot Windows 8.

Activation is lost because a new boot sector is written. Reinstalling the loader from Windows 7 should fix everything.

why even dual boot? all the software in win7 is compatible in win8 and with a couple of minutes of tweaks you can have win8 running exactly like win7, but with improvements

Not exactly, some apps like google sketchup randomly crash on windows 8, unless you set windows 7 compatibility mode.

I dual boot with 7 and 8. Yes, there are some programs that just don't work or don't work properly with Windows 8. Others such as Raxco Perfect Disk need an update before it will work on 8. Rendering videos is much slower on 8 (using the same hardware because I dual boot). The Nvidia driver still needs work. IE 10 really sucks and needs major updating to fix the problems. I can't upload videos to Vimeo with 8. I can't play .mpg/mpeg files with 8 because I only get audio, not video. On and on and on. I'm hoping that there will be updates soon to fix some of these problems. I'm not even sure that ReadyBoost works on 8.

I have a loader too which fixes.

But I have to apply it everytime I return from W8 to W7.

I installed Easy BCD 2.1.2 in both 7 and 8. This is a free program and should eliminate your need to apply the loader each time you switch.

Different people probably have their reasons. I dual boot on my laptop, but that's because I'm just messing around with Windows 8 until release and once it's available for upgrade I'll log in to Windows 7, delete the Windows 8 partition and upgrade my Windows 7 installation to a legit Windows 8 copy.

I think it's something about the Java scripts, my web bank runs OK, but some web-pay services could not run in win8, and has to run in win7 to operate. :(

Which loader are you using? I suggest using Windows Loader 2.1.7 from DAZ. Uninstall the loader you used, even if you used the DAZ loader. Reboot. Install Loader 2.1.7 as Administrator. Let us know.

i loose also the w7 activation(activate with DAZ),when i install w8( activate with phonecall). DAZ 2.17 loader said: unable sector o.s.with RED light .
so i take the HAL7600 and install it-new boot-w7 shows only system restore-but i made only a computer repair-30 sec. -new boot and w 7 is activate again.everything works fine !

then i change in the bootscreen w7 as first and w8 als second boot-os !

I checked those two tabs in Easy BCD and even tried some commands, but I couldn't solve the problem.

If it is not a big trouble, can you please reinstall Easy BCD and try to remember the exact steps ?

Try and install these codec from w w w.cccp-project.net. That should solve your problems for the .mpg/mpeg file. It solved a lot of different type of play back for me. If not you can always install VLC player also.
