I have installed Windows 10 on two totally different PC's using Windows 10 Pro 10240, CLEAN install. Installation went fine. My problem.... the DVD/RW drive is not recognized correctly. Properties on the drive shows it's working correctly. None of my player or recording software see the drive. When I right-click on the drive and choose EJECT, for example, I get an error (says it can't access the drive). Device manager says drive is using a Microsoft driver (2006). One machine was running Windows 7, the other, 8.1. The DVD drive worked fine with those OS's. Both DVD drives are not working correctly. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi. Thanks for your response. I uninstalled the device and rescanned for hardware, earlier this morning. I will try and uninstall the driver, completely, and see what happens. What bothers me, though, it did this on two totally different machines..... different hardware, etc.
