DWM off has been mostly fine for me in the past but recently it's begun to simply turn the entire screen black, and the only thing I can do from there is move the cursor, alt-tab between open programs, and alt-f4 them. I can't even do a power down or restart, so I have to press the hardware reset button on the pc every time this happens. Anyone have insight into this problem?

Why do you wanna disable it? It makes everything like XP :31:

Sometimes I want to play a windowed game or draw on my drawing tablet without forced vsync and lag from desktop compositing. It's not a permanent thing.
