Hi, I am asking for a friend, he wants to burn the latest Windows 11 22H2 on a DVD but it's bigger than the size of the DVD. What is the simplest and easiest way to reduce the size of the ISO?
1- Re-compress Install.wim to ESD 2- reducing size of WinSxS folder 3- Remove un-Necessary index's from install.wim \ install.esd 4- Clean Sources folder's, keep install.wim \ install.esd and some basic files, remove the rest -Or- 5- Use 8GB DOK, format to NTFS, and copy ISO content
I didn't see any modern computer that have a DVD drive yet … ( Neither Desktop Nor Laptop, type not matter )

To answer your answer your question without why you would want to do that, which is obvious by your question. There are many of free programs out there that you can download that will do this for you. One of the many programs out there is PowerISO and may others as well. Do a google search Convert ISO to ESD because there are many.
USB stick is popular these days. But I am one of those users prefer DVD ROM (single-side 4.7GB). So, if any simple way, I will be happy to take it.
This is as simple as it gets, as you're not MODIFYING anything. You just replace the large .wim file with a smaller .esd file. That's it.
Simple way. Download ESD file. and esd-decrypter-wimlib tool. open the tool. Insert ESD file inside the tool and then you find Compressed ISO option.
