Does this work on 8.1 to ?

 

I will test this tomorrow for Win8.1 to see if it also works and will report back. Thanks for sharing regardless if it works on Win8.x. Still good information.

 

There's no "MpEngine" in my registry under Windows Defender, just "Policy Manager" and "Spynet".

 

You have to create the key, then add the DWORD on that key.

 

Open Notepad copy this and save as defender.reg in C:\ Drive then click on and click yes

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\MpEngine]
"MpEnablePus"=dword:00000001

 

Well, this definitely works. Went to run BitTorrent and it flagged it as a PUA. Had to allow it in order to run it. Interested to see how it works for other people when it comes to PUAs.

 

It works on mine as well, auto put's it in quarantine

 

Is changing a registry entry really a "hack" now? Man, I'm totally a hacker. Boohoo!

 

It's not in registry until you put it in

 

better use qBittorrent.

Nahhh bruh. Bittorrent is just fine, especially with all the ads disabled.
