...or at least a good Metro browser as alternative? I recently installed LTSB on a Surface Pro 4 and it seems to help with overall performance and battery drainage. I have MS Store installed as well but tablet mode seems somewhat crippled (any way to add shortcuts?). Not to mention that Edge browser is still the best choice for any windows tablet to keep a good battery life and smooth scrolling in touch mode.
Edge can't be installed on LTSB. Can't say anything about the store and tablet mode as I've straight-up never used them(never used Home/Pro on my PCs).
i used MSMG v7.6 for x64 v7.6 = Worked v7.7 = Worked v7.8 = Option Not Included v7.9 = Option Not Included v8.0 = Option Did Not Work
He asked if the package was provided by MSMG, i checked the official mega link and a few mirrors but couldn'd find the package.
thanks. yes, i looked through the packages and couldn't find it there as well, thus i asked. figured maybe its hidden in one of the files or something.
Yes is provided & Works only in ver 7.6 & 7.7 in my tests 3. integrate 3. windows features D. Edge Browser
Is there an easy way to apply Edge without building an ISO? In my case to Server 2016, not Win10 LTSB. I can’t reinstall OS.
Install winaerotweaker. Check the option to install cabs with right key Go to the place where you have edge.cab Select install this update. Reboot. Easier than doubleckick on a setup.exe
Great, thanks. Three more questions here: 1) Can I take Edge from Win 10 1709 (16299) and apply it to WS2016 (14393), or I need to take one from Win 10 1607 (14393)? 2) Does Edge on WS2016 get updates from MSUs (which are common for Win 10 and WS2016) 3) As my scenario originally was using Edge as RemoteApp, I am failing with that now, posted a question in Windows Server forum - works on full RDP, but not in RemoteApp.
1) you need the one of the same version 2) any package, if properly installed, will take the updates from WU or MSU 3) not tested
