I try whit eeprom.exe in dos . " eeprom.exe w a0 a7 'hex code' " <- at Lenovo Y50-70 , Yoga 710 , B50-XX . it works but for Yoga 900 , Y700 , Ideapad 310 , Ideapad 510 - don't work . my question is : Why at the Yoga 710 it works and for Yoga 900 no ? ( possible is work but I don't know where is SN in bios , maybe is another string ? )
You need to use LVar32.exe/LVar64.exe EEPROM.EXE is for Compal ODM systems. LVar32/64 is for LCFC ODM. ODM = Original Design Manufacturer When you buy a Dell/HP/Lenovo system you're actually buying a device that was manufactured by an ODM Quanta Compal Foxconn Pegatron LCFC Inventec Bitland The big PC vendors use a variety of them for their systems so one system in the same family might be made by Compal and another might be made by LCFC.
I found the lvar.exe . but at lenovo g50-80 dont work i don't know why tell me Wrong parameter, please check it.
Does anyone have a link for the lvar64 tool? Would it work for a lenovo ideapad y910-17isk? I got my laptop back from warranty, they forgot to update the Product Name and MTM and now the keyboard backlight won't work. There is no official repair center in my city, so if I want it fixed I'd have to send my laptop over again... :/
