    Hi,

I was wondering how to edit/overwrite some values of the System Information shown inside msinfo32.exe and the 'System' panel?

Like this 'Manufacturer: Hewlett Packard' in System panel. Can I change this value to something else?
    i1fcz5.jpg

I think this info comes from WMI looking at database in C:\Windows\System32\wbem\repository\OBJECTS.DATA ?

But I am not sure how to read or edit the values in this file, or if this is the right file to find these values?

If someone knows about this please post, thanks!

    Start regedit.exe and navigate to...
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation
...and edit data for the Manufacturer value.

    Thanks!

Is there also a way to change the Processor value in the System panel?

I found also registry key for Processor value in ProcesorNameString in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor

But I am wondering how to change this with WMI? The same Processor value like in registry is also in Win32_Processor and CIM_Processor inside the WMI repository.

Is there a way to overwrite these values in WMI or is it only read-only? Maybe some values put in a MOF file to overwrite the values in WMI repository?

Changing OEM information fair enough but Why change CPU why would you want to give false info.

I'm just interested to learn about WMI and was curious if I could make System stats look crazy like Intel i20 9600k 50GHz CPU and 60TB RAM or something like that

Lol yeah 10MHz or 50GHz both are fun =)

I see the app for changing CPU name but its simple changing the ProcesorNameString in registry. I was curious to learn how to edit WMI repository values or other method so if friend tries msinfo32 he sees whole list of crazy specs like 50TB Pagefile and 100PB RAM (this is tiny netbook lol)

Oh well, it seems some values in WMI repository are read-only so no crazy system specs for me lol

Sorry to reply to an old post.

    I'd like to change:

    OS Name
    OS Version
    System Manufacturer
    System Model
    Processor
    BIOS Version/Date

Up to now, is there any possible solution, bros?

(I run msinfo32.exe to get these info, as in the image attached)
