Can anyone tell me if I can add and/or remove files from an image file (ISO) using IMGBurn? If not, can you suggest what application I can use to accomplish this, hopefully, not to difficult to use? Thank You.
I use UltraISO personally, you can drag and drop folders and files, whatever into an iso and save it.
As long as that .ISO isn't write protected and you've an Mount app installed in Windows 7, you could simply mount that .ISO, add and/or delete what you want and save that .ISO by simply close it. Virtual Clone Drive from Slysoft as example could mount .ISO, .CCD, .DVD, .IMG, .UDF and .BIN files. WinISO is an other tool and there many more.
@pisthai Not true; any ISO mounter treats them as read-only, even Windows 8.x's own mounting feature.
I often just use 7zip to extract files. I've never tried to delete/add but assume that it would work. I haven't used optical drives for years. Installs are from USB. Game ISO's are mounted with Virtual Clone Drive...
To be honest, I was using Virtual CD sometimes for to store CD/DVD to the computer, so X-Plane and I added while those were mounted some files to those .ISO files. Normally that works same as other Mounting Apps, me think! And I stored the DVD Copies all as ISO files in Virtual CD.
There are some softwares that are simple to use. Besides UltraIso, you can use PowerIso and DAEMON Tools that are used for creating/editing/mounting images.
