Hello, Thanks for your feedback, if i may ask : When was the last time did you used EAM? because many of those issue (heaviness, activation, whitelisting) you mentioned seems not actual anymore, in fact EAM is now praised on several security forums mostly for being quite light and easy to use. Maybe you could try the latest build, and tell us how you "feel" it now?
6 months ago, was the last time I used their software. I just checked their forum and activation seems to be still a problem. Even if they do eventually correct it, their licensing makes them far too costly. Malwarebytes and even Nod32 allow me to buy 3 copies of their business edition and I can install it on Windows Professional, Enterprise, and Server. Emsisoft would have me buy not the same edition 3x at a discount, but rather 3 completely independent editions at full price each time. I would need to buy their Home Edition, Business Edition, and then buy their Server Edition. --- It is a cash grab, pure and simple. Finally, they completely ignore other OS's since I cannot find anything from them that supports either Linux or Mac OS. Nod32 supports both (Mac and Linux) and Malwarebytes just released MacOS and has a Linux edition in development.
Maybe today is a good day and lucky for you, that I am not staff here. I personally banned you on my site since we both know how you can be misleading. Particularly neglecting the offers you make and the unfulfillment to make good on them. Have a wonderful day.
Hi, and welcome to MDL! If I'm not mistaken you're the great (typo) Umbra from Malwaretips and Wilders. I congrats you for your achievement as a community manager for Emsisoft. If you could remember, we've had a discussion on Emsisoft's Online Armor annoying popup and your suggestion to use Emsisoft antimalware along with Eset for a strong pc security configuration. I've had some threads on Emsisoft AM & IS started here at MDL but it didn't achieve much success. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/contest-emsisoft-internet-security-pack.55840/#post-934905 [Contest 20 licenses] Emsisoft Internet Security 9.- https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/contest-20-licenses-emsisoft-internet-security-9.59918/ Emsisoft Anti-Malware and Emsisoft Internet Security 9.0 Public Beta- https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1015515/ https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...t-security-9-0-public-beta.54497/#post-937209 Now I'm sure that your stay here will create some PC Security awareness among the MDLians .
Hello sid_16, Indeed i'm the same Umbra, you found me hahaha, but i stopped to be moderator there since i work for Emsisoft. Thank you for your kind words, i really appreciated them. Yes, those popup was expected from a HIPS software and kinda annoying for the non-initiated. Not saying HIPS are almost dead and are slowly replaced by behavior blockers, anti-executables or even machine learning. At that time, Emsisoft AM was a companion AV and could be used both as standalone product or (as i suggested to you) as a companion to ESET which is a great security suite to me. Thank you for your involvement and support to our products, even if it doesn't get much "success", we appreciate it. Yes, i will try to help and inform members here as i did on Malwaretips and Wilders. Just follow this thread, i will put articles and guides that may help and inform beginners and maybe experts. Security become a serious subject those days and is no more the field of some geeks/pentesters/hackers.
Don't worry about your status at MT but your work, tips and reviews of many software will definitely help others at MT. Yes, I agree here. If the users of Emsisoft will follow your tweaks/tips applying this security software especially to the behavior Blockers, anti-executables the PC will became an invincible fortress. Hope this time the members here will get some interesting tips from you for Emsisoft IS to apply it for their- PC hardening security, from nasty zeroday malware and ransomeware. Of course! I'll follow this thread.
For those who know better than to trust US&Affiliates Companies, Kaspersky now offers a free version....
It is getting a bit much of advertising... Of curse I cannot tell the qualitiy of Emisoft, it found adware on my computer, adware called Sopcast....
