This is an old 945PM Calistoga laptop without AHCI and with a 2.0 SLIC.
    It has a Phoenix BIOS.

I'd like to enable AHCI on this machine because I know it can work in AHCI mode.

This is the BIOS it's using: mediafire.com/?z0x61v0g15o4sak

Here's how to enable it on some VAIO laptops:

Can it be done for this BIOS?

    Hi zfffft,
I'm curious, how do you "know it can work in AHCI mode" if you're not able to enable that option?
As for modding the BIOS to enable AHCI mode, I recommend finding a copy of the "Phoenix BIOS Editor" and seeing what you can do with that. I'm sorry that I can't be of more assistance. Good luck.
